Twelve dogs that may have been used in dog fighting, were found dead inside of trash bags in the middle of a Flint street.

The animals were found Monday morning by blight elimination workers in the 1200 block of Rankin St. near Forest Hill Avenue. There are no residents on that block, just mounds of trash, abandoned couches and junk. Flint police Chief James Tolbert said it is believed the dogs were pit bulls. The Genesee County Humane Society animal cruelty officer is looking into the situation. If you have any information on this horrible act, please contact Flint police at (810) 237-6801.

On a much lighter note, if you are a dog owner or maybe just a dog lover, consider this your personal invitation to see the greatest 80's hair metal tribute band in the universe EVER - Ironsnake, April 4th at the Machine Shop. Your $5 dollar donation at the door will go to benefit the Grand Blanc Dog Park. The park will is located in Creasey Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc Township and is set to open in June.

I am not sure if the band will sing 'Bark at the Moon', but I do promise you will have an awesome time! Hope to see you there!
