Earlier this morning a 16-year-old girl was stabbed while attending Fitzgerald High School in Warren.

WDIV reports there was a fight between two students with one of them suffering life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old victim was stabbed by a 17-year-old girl, police said. CPR was in progress on the way to the hospital.

The girl was stabbed twice while fighting in the classroom. UPDATE: It was just reported that the girl passed away from her injuries. Our hearts are with her family at this extremely difficult time.

The district released this statement about the stabbing before she was announced dead:

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, we received a report that a Fitzgerald High School student had stabbed another high school student resulting in injuries. The alleged attacker has been arrested and is in custody. The injured student has been transported to the hospital. The high school is on lockdown until further notice. We will share updates when they are available. Please note the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.

I hate seeing kids fight especially when the outcome is something like this. I can't even watch videos of kids fighting, I don't know why it bothers me so much but it really does.
