5 Year-Old Detroit Boy Dies After Being Run Over by Father

Even though his death is still under investigation, it is believed that this was an accident that happened in Southeast Detroit.

According to police, the 27 year-old father backed over his son this past Tuesday. Reports also say that the father thought that the boy was in the backseat of the vehicle when he was backing up.

The little boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

My stomach drops and my heart hurts just thinking about something like this happening. It's kind of hard to imagine not knowing that my kid wasn't in the backseat when backing up but kids at the age of five can easily slip through your fingers if you're not watching closely enough.
