9-Year-Old Shoots Sister After Fighting Over Video Game Controller

A 13-year-old girl is dead after being shot in the head by her 9-year-old little brother over the weekend. 

Apparently, the two got into a fight over a video game controller. She wouldn't give up the controller which set this boy into a rage. According to USA Today, she was shot in the back of the head, and the bullet went through her brain. She was then rushed to Le Bonheur's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Mississippi where she later died of her injuries.

It's not clear how this boy had access to a gun or if he even really realized the magnitude of his actions. It's a tough case for police as they said they've never dealt with a child shooting another child of such a young age.

The mother was at home at the time and it's said that she was in the kitchen preparing food for some other kids.

It floors me that this child had access to a weapon, assuming that it belonged to his parents who obviously didn't have it put away in a secure location. What a horrible loss for this family regardless who's at fault.
