Around 70 Credit Card Skimmers Have Been Found This Year In Michigan

Be sure to keep an eye on your bank statements. In 2016 alone around 70 credit card skimmers have been found at different terminals in Michigan. If you are using your card at the pump, keep in mind that those skimmers are not visible from the outside and can be used to steal your credit information.

The skimmers can be installed in seconds and police as well as business owners are on the lookout for this devices.

"Some steps station owners can take, and have taken, to protect their patrons from cyber-criminals are changing locks, using tamper-proof security tape, and security cameras. MDARD is also encouraging station owners to increase their regular dispenser inspections," said Clover Adams.
