It has long been rumored that Katie Holmes auditioned for the role of Tom Cruise’s missus via the controversial Church of Scientology, of which Cruise is a high-ranking member. That claim has been disputed, but a new blockbuster Vanity Fair article claims that Holmes wasn’t the first choice for Cruise’s wife.
There’s an old saying that if it’s too loud, you’re too old. However, we’re not so sure that adage applies to the New Hampshire town in this particular case, where a woman was arrested after blaring AC/DC‘s anthem ‘Highway to Hell’ at 1AM.
Down frontman and metal icon Philip Anselmo issued a video update while smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Isaac in Louisiana. Anselmo initially issued the clip a few days ago, but the audio quality was poor and indiscernible. It has since been republished with better audio quality. Of course, Anselmo’s description of the storm was peppered with eff bombs, but he provided a first-person perspective, and one that is uniquely Anselmo, of what life is like during a hurricane.
Deftones have confirmed that their seventh studio album is titled ‘Koi No Yokan,’ and it will be released on Nov. 13. All That Remains have shared both the cover art and a lyric video for ‘Stand Up‘ from their upcoming seventh studio album ‘A War You Cannot Win,’ which follows the disc ‘For We Are Many.’ The album drops on Nov. 6 via Razor & Tie. Just in time for Election Day, which is poignant in relation to the band, given politically informed frontman Phil Labonte’s recent public comments about the right to bear arms and Tom Morello.
Metallica filmed their 3D concerts for their upcoming film in Vancouver, Canada, adding a third show on Aug. 27 with a $5 ticket price and a condition. It was certainly not your average Metallica concert, as cameras and drum kits were moved between each song to accommodate the shooting of extra footage and close-ups to grab the imagery needed for the film. Despite that seeming annoyance and obstructed view, fans would be rewarded with something even more nvaluable, as pointed out by frontman James Hetfield.
All That Remains, who have been in the news a bit lately due to singer Phil Labonte’s outspoken comments and controversial opinions on gun control and Tom Morello, have dropped their new single ‘Stand Up (Stand Up)’ from the upcoming disc ‘A War You Cannot Win.’ The verdict? It’s another ATR song primed for rock radio.
