Inspired by Adam Driver’s Beefy Bod in ‘The Last Jedi,’ Men Everywhere Are Taking the ‘Kylo Ren Challenge’
Hi. Hello. Welcome to 2018. As you force yourselves back into society after a long, carb-stacked holiday weekend and confront the monotony of “work” and “responsibility,” you may find yourself in need of a little pick-me-up. Enter the #KyloRenChallenge, courtesy of OG f—k boy John Mayer. Motivated by Adam Driver’s shirtless, beefy and oh-so-high-waisted bod in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Mayer shared his own take on the Look and inspired men everywhere (or on Instagram, whatever) to do the same. We’re not only here for it, but we would like to express our full, unwavering support for this ridiculous endeavor.
Zack Snyder Fans Launching Official Website for Snyder Cut of ‘Justice League’
Not long after Justice League hit theaters, a certain corner of the DC fanbase collectively channeled the “denial” stage of grief into a petition demanding the release of the “Zack Snyder cut” of the film. After Snyder was forced to leave Justice League in the middle of post-production due to a personal tragedy, Warner Bros. enlisted Joss Whedon to complete the film, resulting in extensive reshoots — which means that a Snyder cut of the film doesn’t exist, and were WB to cobble one together, it wouldn’t amount to much of anything.
Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson Top List of Highest-Grossing Actors in 2017
It looks like Vin Diesel has bested Dwayne Johnson in at least one arena, clocking in at number one on Forbes’ list of the highest-grossing actors of 2017 — and throwing a little more fuel on that Fast & Furious feud (say that five times fast). Thanks to The Fate of the Furious and xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Diesel edged out his Fast co-star / arch-nemesis, and with fewer 2017 releases under his belt.
How ‘Rogue One’ Set Up ‘The Last Jedi’ With a ‘Star Wars’ Easter Egg
It didn’t take long for Star Wars theories and Easter eggs to flood the internet after The Last Jedi hit theaters (we put together our own handy video here). But to find one of the most interesting connections to Rian Johnson’s game-changing sequel, you’ll have to revisit last year’s Rogue One, which centered on a hastily-assembled team’s efforts to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. As it turns out, that film features an Easter egg that sets up a crucial plot point in The Last Jedi.
Lucasfilm Committed to Rian Johnson’s New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Before He Even Had a Story
The first reviews of The Last Jedi are in, with many critics hailing the new Star Wars installment as the best since The Empire Strikes Back. And if critics are that impressed with filmmaker Rian Johnson’s work in the iconic galaxy far, far away, then the folks at Lucasfilm are twice as thrilled — which is why it wasn’t too surprising to learn that the studio had signed Johnson to develop a brand new Star Wars trilogy, complete with new characters and an epic new journey. What might surprise you, however, is that Lucasfilm gave Johnson the OK even though he didn’t have a story idea to pitch.
‘Rotten Apples’ Site Tells You if Any Alleged Abusers Were Involved With a Film or Show
The enduring debate about whether you can truly separate the art from its artist imploded this year in the wake of numerous sexual misconduct scandals involving powerful Hollywood men. As allegations continue to surface from every corner of the industry, cinephiles and TV viewers have grown more concerned about the entertainment they digest, and that in doing so they may be contributing to a culture that enabled these alleged abusers. For those wondering if their faves have suddenly become problematic, a new website called Rotten Apples is here to help.

From social satire to Stephen King, these are the best horror films of 2017.
Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Star Trek’ Will Be Rated R, Potential Writers Revealed
Well that was fast. Although we’re still mighty skeptical about Quentin Tarantino actually directing this thing, his Star Trek pitch is moving along rather quickly. The director has met with a trio of writers, with one reportedly emerging as the frontrunner to script the new Star Trek movie based on Tarantino’s idea. But the most interesting part of the latest update on this wacky concept is that Paramount has agreed to Tarantino’s stipulation that the film be rated R.
‘Justice League’ Disappointment Leads to Major DCEU Shakeup
It seemed inevitable that something would have to give behind the scenes in the DCEU, and with the recent success of Wonder Woman, the hiring of Matt Reeves to helm The Batman, and Ben Affleck’s heavily-rumored departure — among other things — a major change felt imminent. That change has come, as a new report reveals that a huge shakeup is underway with the DCEU, with the head of the comic book film production division leaving his post, while the role of DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns will become “more advisory in nature.”
‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Featurette Reveals Jeff Goldblum’s Return
Universal is releasing several sneak peeks and promos for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the lead up to tomorrow’s debut of the first trailer. Today’s offering is arguably the best so far: A featurette that takes you behind the scenes of the upcoming sequel with director Juan Antonio Bayona, co-writer and producer Colin Trevorrow, and the cast — including Jeff Goldblum, making his highly-anticipated return to the franchise as Ian Malcolm.
Netflix Exec Tells Alleged Danny Masterson Rape Victim the Company Doesn’t Believe Actor’s Accusers
When Kevin Spacey was hit with allegations of sexual misconduct, Netflix took swift, immediate action: Production on House of Cards was suspended as Netflix launched an internal investigation, and Spacey’s employment with the streaming giant was terminated. While the company acted responsibly in the wake of growing allegations against Spacey, it also came under fire for its hypocrisy. Danny Masterson, star of The Ranch, is the subject of an active police investigation based on four women’s claims that the actor raped them in the early 2000s. Netflix has taken no action against Masterson, and according to at least one company executive, there’s a disturbing reason behind it.
Margot Robbie Says She’s Working on Another Harley Quinn Spinoff
In Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn was one of the few shining spots in David Ayer’s otherwise messy attempt to introduce the grimy super-villain collective. Margot Robbie’s natural charisma elevated the character beyond Joker’s occasional girlfriend and sidekick (and emotional punching bag), and she really zeroed in on the aspects of her personality that have made Harley Quinn such a fan-favorite. It’s no surprise that Warner Bros. is already plotting a pair of spinoffs for the character, but according to Robbie, there’s a third Harley project in the works, too.
