Beastie Boys Sue Monster Energy Drink for Copyright Infringement

Yesterday (Aug. 9), late Beastie Boys rapper Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch‘s last will and testiment was publicly revealed to contain a clause banning his music being used in any advertisements, and now E! reports that Mike D, Ad-Rock and the estate of the late Yauch sued Monster Energy Corp. on Tuesday for copyright infringement.

Green Day have issued a brand-new official band photo (via Twitter) ahead of their forthcoming three-album blitz known as ’¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!,’ and ‘¡Tre!’ trilogy — and it’s a pretty sweet shot. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and the boys mug for the cameras with their typical goofy faces in the picture, which we assume is a punk-rock band version of a high school yearbook shot.

The Smashing Pumpkins have postponed tonight’s (Aug. 7) concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines due to monsoon-like torrential rains that have caused flooding and landslides in the region. Green Day Reissuing Entire Studio Catalog in New Box Set
Ahead of their forthcoming barrage of three new albums known as ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tres!,’ Green Day will treat their especially dedicated uber-fans with the release of a box set featuring all eight of their previous full-length studio albums. Titled, appropriately, ‘The Studio Albums 1990-2009,’ the set will be available exclusively through Best Buy retailers on Sept. 4.

Green Day, ‘Let Yourself Go’ – New Video
Green Day have released a live video for the tune ‘Let Yourself Go’ that was recorded on Nov. 17 of last year at a venue called the Red 7 in Austin, Texas. It’s a track off the band’s upcoming album, ‘¡Uno!,’ which hits stores on Sept. 25 via Reprise and is the first release from a trilogy that includes ‘¡Dos!’ (out Nov. 13) and ‘¡Tres!’ (due Jan. 15).
