Don't get too excited; according to GNR guitarist DJ Ashba this stuff will probably never see the light of day. To be honest it's not really surprising that this dude has some extra tracks laid down, it did take him 13 years to finish 'Chinese Democracy'.

In a recent interview with Australia's Hot Breakfast Guns N' Roses and Sixx A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba gave some rare insight into the Axl Rose demo vault saying:

"Axl has a lot of great songs up his sleeve. He probably has three albums worth of stuff recorded. The stuff I've heard… I've been up in his hotel room many nights and he just sits down at the piano and plays. I'm like 'this is amazing, people have to hear this song' and he's like "ah, this is something I'm tinkering on'. He's just a genius when it comes down to music and I just cannot wait to sit down with an acoustic guitar and just write. He's just got this gift that's very, very rare."

Like I said earlier; it's not a very hard task to amass 36 extra songs in 13 years. Rumors in the year prior to the release of Chinese Democracy had said it would be released as a triple album; maybe this is what they were talking about. The stuff that will never see the light of day probably includes that song that features rap compliments of Shaquille O' Neal (how dated would that have made 'Democracy' sound?). Now that the pressure is off of Axl to release a 'masterpiece' follow-up to Use Your Illusion from the previous incarnation of Guns, it should be easier for him to let go of some of that material he's maybe not so proud of.
