It's no secret that there are quite a few eyesores throughout the Flint area. Ballenger Square Apartments fall into that category in many peoples eyes.

Ballenger Square Apartments have been sitting vacant in Flint for nearly 10 years. The grounds are fenced off, the buildings are in disrepair after fires, windows are broken out, and there is a lot of trash covering the grounds. In an effort to clean up the area, the City of Flint will be tearing down the buildings.

The money to make the demolition happen is coming from a grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, the city of Flint and Genesee County. According to reports, the project should be completed by the end of June this year.

The project is long overdue but is finally getting done. Downtown Flint has come a long way in the past 10 years and I'm glad to see improvements happening all over the city.
