Banana Listeners Share Thoughts On Death Of Chris Cornell

It is still hard to believe that Chris Cornell is gone. Although most of us did not know him personally, his music has touched a part of our lives. For a lot of you his voice was the soundtrack to your life. 

For years on the air when I played Soundgarden or Audioslave I would say 'Man, I would listen to Chris Cornell sing the phone book.' - I had to change that a few years ago to 'Man, I would listen to Chris Cornell sing Google.' - no one uses a phone book anymore.

His music will live on, but what really breaks my heart is the fact that three children lost a father and a woman lost her husband. We put rock stars on such high pedestals, that we (myself included) forget that they are real people. You did not have to know Chris Cornell personally to be emotional about his death, his music was personal to you. Proof of that is the comments below from our Facebook page. May he rest in peace.
