Bar Busted For Illegal Mouse Racing. WTF?

I think it is safe to say people will bet on anything.  Mouse racing however is a new one to me.

The Toronto Sun is reporting that a bar is Iowa is facing charges over illegal mouse racing.

Owners of the "Bucktail Lodge", Scott & Jan Beach say they made no money off the races, and that "it was a blast".

Patrons would bet one dollar per mouse.  The races were on a flat track, with each mouse in its own lane.

It does not appear to me that the mice were hurt or abused in anyway.  Frankly, I don't care.  I would never want to be in any place where there were mice.  I am totally freaked out by mice.  I don't even like Mickey Mouse!

The Beaches' plan to plead "not guilty" and claim that the state of Iowa is "taking the fun out of it".
