If there is one thing that we can count on in Michigan it's crazy weather.

If you have ever thought about chasing storms or just learning more about them, there is a free workshop in Genesee County just for you. You can become a Skywarn storm spotter and learn what to look for when it comes to a building storm.

The workshop is set to take place at the Genesee County Administration building on March 30th from 10 am until noon. In the two hour workshop, you will learn the basics of a developing thunderstorm, what to look for, and what to report.

This workshop is being offered in a partnership between the Michigan Specialized Communication Group, the Genesee County Amateur Radio Public Service Corps, the Genesee County Office of Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service Pontiac/Detroit.

I have always been fascinated by thunderstorms and might just take the class too. You can get more information on other classes and details on Michigan SkyWarn here.
