Bottle and Can Drive To Benefit Teen Fisherman Trenton Dobrzenski
The story of Trenton Dobrzenski is a cruel reminder that life is not to be taken for granted. The Genesee Township teen passed away in a fishing accident on Mott Lake this month, leaving his family and friends heartbroken and shocked. Find out how you can help.
The loss of any young life is tragic, and that tragedy is only compounded when it happens in our own backyard. 19 -year-old Trenton Dobrzenski of Genesee Township lost his life in a boating accident on May 1st. Dobrzenski and a friend were fishing when their boat capsized and the unimaginable happened. Dobrzenski never made it ashore. Authorities searched the lake, only to find is body 8 days later and rule his death an accidental drowning. Family and friends describe Trent as a caring, musically gifted, loving person, who will be greatly missed.
A bottle and can drive is being set up by friends of Trenton, for both this Monday(5/14) and Tuesday(5/15). Monday, bottles, cans, and cash donations will be accepted at Calvert Park Church, in Burton, on North Genesee Road after 6 pm. Tuesday, you can make a contribution at Fielder Elementary School, in Flint on Nightingale Drive starting at 6pm. Condolences to the Dobrzenski family can be made at his online obituary.
