Buckcherry are officially at work on their sixth studio album, which was previously believed to be a rock opera -- check out the band's first official in studio update here.

Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd first broke news of the follow-up to 2010's 'All Night Long' late last year, saying that it may come in the form of a rock opera. "We’re just piecing together some songs right now it’s probably gonna be a concept record, for the first time for us," explained Todd. "Can’t really talk about a concept [of the record] yet, cause then that would suck cause it’s way too early. It’ll be out probably early summer next year [2012] and I think everybody will dig it.”

Fast-forward to now and the band is ready to spill the beans in the concept. In the recently posted in-studio webisode, which shows the band during the pre-production stages, Todd explains that the concept is centered on the seven deadly sins -- those being wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. "We want to incorporate the seven sins into a record. It's something that Keith [Nelson, guitar] have [wanted to for] a long time."

Buckcherry will break from the studio for a series of tour dates beginning April 21st in San Antonio, Texas and running sporadically throughout the summer.
