Buckcherry has entered the studio to begin work on their sixth album and early reports say the new material may arrive in the form of a concept album or a full-on rock opera.

Buckcherry are not a band generally known for tackling projects with an epic scope. In recent years, the band's calling card has become party anthems like 'Crazy Bitch', 'Too Drunk to F---', and 'All Night Long' -- a trend that began in 1999 with their first hit 'All Lit Up'. The band is currently working on the follow up to 2010's 'All Night Long', which is heading in a very different direction than most would expect.

According to a report by Artisan News, vocalist Josh Todd has said that they are working on a rock opera. In their interview he made no mention of operatic aspirations, but he does confirm that the project is taking them into new creative territory:

"We're just piecing together some songs right now it's probably gonna be a concept record, for the first time for us...Can't really talk about a concept [of the record] yet, cause then that would suck cause it's way too early. It'll be out probably early summer next year [2012] and I think everybody will dig it."

Buckcherry is currently gearing up for a limited run of shows opening for Guns N' Roses on their upcoming North American tour, then the band will partake in the 'Shiprocked' cruise for a week in mid-November.
