Check out the pics from the Taproot acoustic set from the Banana 101.5 conference lounge 9/17/2012. The Banana crew and a few lucky listeners won the chance for this live acoustic three song set.
Green Day stormed into New York City's Irving Plaza for an intimate club show on Saturday night (Sept. 15) in celebration of their upcoming release '¡Uno!' and their involvement with Nokia's new music streaming service. And the fans lucky enough to be in attendance were treated to a two-and-a-half-hour marathon set that spanned the band's entire career.
Megadeth's Dave Mustaine celebrated his 51st birthday on Sept. 13 by playing a concert to a packed house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After playing their last song of the night, Mustaine was surprised with a birthday cake onstage by two lovely ladies, while the crowd sang 'Happy Birthday' to the legendary frontman in both English and Spanish.
Mark Tremonti plays the Machine Shop this Thursday on a trek supporting his debut solo album, ‘All I Was.’ Of course, when most people think of Tremonti, they think of him as a killer guitar player and shredder. But, he sings lead vocals on his solo album, and I recently chatted with him about that switch.
Check out the pics from the Soil, (HED) PE show at The Machine Shop 9/14/2012. Maggie Meadows and the Banana crew were out early to see MicLordz & Sauce Funky, Sickfrown, & Nothing.
Geoff Tate is putting aside his Queensryche legal issues long enough to continue his career with the new solo collection, 'Kings & Thieves,' arriving on Nov. 6.
It was one of their most successful releases, and now Megadeth are ready to step back in time to revisit their 1992 effort, 'Countdown to Extinction.' The group has scheduled on Nov. 6 street date for a 20th anniversary reissue of the album, and they're planning on playing the disc in its entirety during a late fall 2012 run.
The Foo Fighters breather between shows is Jane's Addiction's gain as drummer Taylor Hawkins made a surprise guest appearance with Perry Farrell and company during Jane's Addiction's Doheny Days performance in Dana Point, Calif.
I trekked out to DTE Friday (Sept. 7) for the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival and had the pleasure of interviewing Shinedown and Deuce at the show. Look for the interviews to go up later this week!
Overall, Uproar drew a packed crowd and some killer sets. A few of the highlights for me included P.O.D.’s always-sick, energizing set and Shinedown’s headlining performance.
Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform live tonight at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte before President Obama’s speech. Last night (Sept. 5), the band played a nearly four-hour concert for Rock the Vote, an organization formed to engage young people in the political process.
Bad news for Kiss/Motley Crue fans, tonight's show at the DTE is postponed until tomorrow. Apparently on it's way to Detroit, the band's pyro truck was involved in an accident and flipped over, spilling the bands gear all over the freeway. According to the Kiss Facebook page, the show is now scheduled for tomorrow.
