After announcing another leg of his acoustic Songbook Tour, Chris Cornell played his new song 'The Keeper' on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' and announced his plans to release a live album of performances from his acoustic tour later this year.

Chris Cornell is one busy guy these days - announcing tours, dropping in on PJ20 Festival to revive Temple of the Dog for a couple nights, recording a new album with Soundgarden...let's just say he must really value his free time.

As we reported yesterday, Chris will hit the road to continue where he left of with last spring's solo acoustic tour. According to Blabbermouth, Cornell said in a recent interview that he plans to release a live album in November featuring 15 tracks from his solo outings.

The Soundgarden frontman most recently contributed the acoustic based track 'The Keeper' to the 'Machine Gun Preacher' soundtrack. Here is last night's (9/23) performance from 'The Late Show with David Letterman' where Chris was backed by frequent Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures collaborator Alain Johannes.
