Well he isn't the first politician to try to legalize weed, but let's hope he's the last.  On Wednesday, to Congress, Rep. Jared Polis called for the end of prohibition on pot.

Regardless of where you stand on the political scale, I think it should be pretty obvious that weed should be legal.  Think about how much weed costs, and how much people buy it.  Imagine if we could tax that.  Also, marijuana is well within the scope of dangerous behavior that we allow of our adults.  And, with legalization would come regulations, which would make it more difficult for minors to get their hands on weed.  Drug dealers will sell to a 14 year old, stores wouldn't.

Really, there are a ton of reasons to legalize it.  And Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) agrees.  Today, he brought attention to the matter in the House of Representatives stating

"Ending the failed policy of prohibition with regard to marijuana will strike a major blow against the criminal cartels that are terrorizing Americans and Mexicans on both sides of the border,"

Rawstory.com ran the original article and  it seems like more and more people are pro-pot.  I just want it to be legalized so we can stop talking about it.
