The recent story about Corey Taylor discussing lyrics for the next Slipknot album had us revisiting some of the band’s classic tracks, and we came across this video of his vocal takes isolated from “Duality.” Hearing how the band utilize different layers and tones on top of one another helps put into perspective how the band achieve their demon-like sound. While there is not much information available yet on Slipknot's next album, Corey Taylor was a recent guest on Full Metal Jackie's radio program and dished some details on the writing process thus far. “Hearing some of the guys in Slipknot read and react to some of the lyrics that I've been writing has been fantastic,” he said. “I know Clown was like, just blown away by how open and raw it all felt. It felt like the old days. It felt like the beginning when it was just - we were the wound and the fans were the scabs. Trying to get it to heal and we were all trying to heal together. That's what this kind of feels like.”
