Canadian hard rockers Danko Jones have announced details of their upcoming sixth studio album. ‘Rock and Roll is Black and Blue’ will be released Oct. 9. It’s described as ‘13 tracks that are bolder, brasher and brawnier than anything they’ve attempted before.’

‘Rock and Roll is Black and Blue’ was produced by longtime collaborator Matt DeMatteo and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith). It is the first studio album featuring drummer Atom Willard (Rocket From The Crypt, The Offspring, Social Distortion), although he has been in the band for just over a year.

The first single from the album is ‘Just a Beautiful Day,’ and will be serviced to radio stations in the near future. Danko Jones also recently released the two DVD set ‘Bring on the Mountain’ that includes a documentary, short film, live clips and every music video the band has done.

Danko Jones has been playing some European festivals this summer, and will be at Wacken Open Air in early August and Rockstad in Sweden later that month. The band has a European tour scheduled for October and November.
