We recently invited the core of Metal Allegiance to our studio so the guys could talk about their new project, their debut album, their favorite musicians they collaborated with an much more!

With the foundation of Metal Allegiance consisting of Megadeth's David Ellefson, Dream Theater / The Winery Dogs' Mike Portnoy, Testament's Alex Skolnick and musician Mark Menghi, there's a ton of talent present in one band.

We spoke to all four members about the Metal Allegiance album and how they managed to fit writing and recording the piece in with their busy schedules. If you've heard the record, you're aware of how much extra talent was recruited to round out the record. Musicians like Exodus / Slayer shredder Gary Holt, Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe, Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia and many others put a bit of themselves into the album, so we asked the core of Metal Allegiance who their favorite collaborators were.

Having put in decades of hard work into their respective groups before Metal Allegiance even existed, Ellefson, Portnoy and Skolnick were all able to have extra fun putting their efforts into Metal Allegiance. The trio speak about how rewarding the process has been and how it compares to their other musical ventures.

Check out our exclusive interview with Metal Allegiance in the video above and grab a copy of the group's debut album here.
