Detroit Man Steals One Million Dollar Check

First of all, who has a million dollar check laying around for someone to steal?  Dion Franklin of Detroit is accused of stealing a check in the amount of 955 thousand dollar tax refund out of a woman's mailbox.  Second of all who gets a refund check for that amount?  Holy sh**!

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the man did not spend any of the money.  Franklin offered to pay an unidentified person to deposit the check at a Bank Of America branch using a company name and the woman's dead husband. Needless to say, a check that size raises red flags at the bank.

I am not surprised that someone tried to steal a check that large.  What I still can't get over is a tax refund that large!  WTF?
