Devour the Day recently revealed "Lightning in the Sky," the new single from the band's upcoming S.O.A.R. album, and now there's a conceptual video to go along with it.

In the clip, frontman Blake Allison is struck by a vehicle, transporting him into a world where he and his band perform while some rather tumultuous elements are projected onto them. Whether it be a lightning storm or being submerged in the water, Devour the Day play amidst some pretty rough weather ... that is until Allison comes back to his senses. Watch the video in full above.

"Lightning in the Sky" is the lead single off of Devour the Day's sophomore set, S.O.A.R. Kicking off with a heavy drum and bass-led beat, the song builds in intensity before reaching a crashing crescendo in the chorus.

The S.O.A.R. album is due on April 1 via Razor & Tie. The band worked on the set with producer Dan Korneff. Joey "Chicago" Walster says of the disc, "It’s like the difference between a superhero’s first and second movie. In the first movie, the hero is still getting used to his powers — fumbling around and slowly understanding his place. By the beginning of the second film, he becomes what he’s meant to be. On S.O.A.R., we have become Devour the Day. We have a very firm grasp on who we are and the music we want to make. Even though we’ve been playing together for so long [Allison and Walser played in the pre-Devour the Day band Egypt Central], it feels like the very beginning of our career."

You can currently pre-order S.O.A.R. via Amazon and iTunes. Devour the Day return to the road on March 18, sharing stages with Pop Evil and All That Remains on separate tour legs this spring. Dates can be found here.
