With the warm weather we've been having, no one is more at risk than your pets, especially those that are kept outside.

While driving in Detroit a new reporter noticed a dog near the side of the road next to his owner. At first glance, it appeared as if the dog had been hit by a car but as she got closer it was clear that something else was wrong. The dog was suffering from heat stroke and couldn't make the walk home to where he was chained up and living in the backyard.

Luckily they moved into action and he was rushed to the vet because it was obvious that the dog wasn't going to survive.

There are definitely things that can be done so situations like this can be avoided. Click here to find out 6 ways to protect your dog in the summer heat.
