Icy road conditions led to a massive pileup on I-94 involving well over 100 vehicles, a truck hauling hazardous materials and a fireworks truck.

There have been varied reports on how many vehicles were actually involved in the crash that happened around 10a this morning, but the latest report from the Detroit Free Press puts the total near 150. The pileup happened about 10 miles east of Kalamazoo in Galesburg, MI.

Authorities have confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash that also compromised a truck carrying hazardous material and caused a fireworks truck to explode. A 3-mile stretch of I-94 has been closed while authorities and Hazmat crews work to clean up the disastrous situation.
