Those 'Expendables' are still truckin'; despite being a combined age of 794 (well, roughly), the creaky action heroes are soldiering on toward 'The Expendables 3,' with Sylvester Stallone leading the charge. However, they just might be too old for this, um, stuff.

Stallone recently implied that the group will have to bring in new blood to keep going - and no, we don't mean a transfusion - we mean a new set of characters to shake things up and give the elder gentlemen a boost. So what does Sly have in mind? Find out after the break!

Mr. Stallone was recently in Rome to promote his latest testosterone-fest, 'Bullet to the Head', and gave up some info to Italian site Best Movie. It (via Bleeding Cool) regarding his vision for the future of the Expendables. To sum up: He doesn't really know where its going just yet, but he's got a handful of intriguing ideas. (The translation is a little rough, but you'll get the gist.)

I got two great ideas. I believe the Expendables ... they're broken up, they're shot, they've had it, they're done. We have to hire new us, we have to find new Expendables, but there are none! They do not make people like us anymore, they are all like robots. I know I can go out and hire five young guys, but they're the new army, they got drones and technology, but they're not like us. Remember in Tropic Thunder? Just like Those Guys!

Okay, so that's one route: the young bucks, brash and technologically advanced, show the old boys how it's done in the 21st Century (although we suspect the Expendables would still end up saving their behinds). Who else can Barney Ross and his peeps turn to?

Or, there's another combination, and it Involves girlfriends. Say I got divorced, say I am married to Sigourney Weaver, then she gets half the Expendables, she gets what I call the Expendabelles. I know I need help and I have to go to her. And I'd like to have like Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano. It'll be something like that, very different. The main thing is it can not be about us! We're done. We need to bring in new blood. And you bring in geeks and girls and women, people who are different.

Someone might want to tell Sly that there is a female Expendables-type flick in the works - with Gina Carano, no less - so perhaps the "geeks" will end up saving the day in 'The Expendables 3'. Lord knows it would be amusing to see a young pup in a 'Star Trek' t-shirt get the brawny alpha dogs out of a jam using his laptop and nerd-skills.

Which brings us to this question: if Stallone turns to a younger generation, who would you like to see cast in 'Expendables 3'?
