Sometimes even the simplest of activities can turn dangerous in seconds. This group on a boat were simply just out fishing when they got too close to the dam.

I really don't know the whole story on this but it looks terrifying. I'm not sure if the engine quit or if the current from the dam was just too strong, but their boat was taking a beating in this situation. There wasn't too much the bystander could do for them either. Several of them began to yell for the people to abandon ship.

I could not even imagine what I would do. To be honest, I don't think jumping in the freezing Michigan water would be my first choice. Thankfully, there were people around to help. All three of the boat passengers were rescued by a fellow fisherman and his boat.

As for me, I think I'll stick to fishing during the warm summer months.
