The Flint Firebirds have definitely had their ups and downs this year. This is probably the biggest problem they have to face. Owner Rolf Nilsen has apparently violated his contract agreement with the OHL on several occasions.

Looks like Nilsen will be face the follow. He is suspended from the league for five years, has to pay a $250,000 fine, and might have to sell off 100% of his ownership interests with the Firebirds. On top of that, the Firebirds have lost their first round draft pick for this season.

The good news is that the Firebirds will continue to play right here in Flint. I really enjoy catching those games, so thank god they get to stay.
