Now, even the most destitute bastard in Flint can be a homeowner. A recent report from The Detroit Free Press indicates there is a house currently on the market that can be purchased for under $200.

That’s right – while Detroit’s overpriced housing market is making headlines with homes for a thousand dollars, Flint has a property located at 2518 Dakota Avenue for only $188. The possibilities are endless: crack house, band rehearsal space, mistress love shack, serial killer workspace, and off site man cave.

Sure, the pad could use a little work and there is the possibility that the new owner would be forced to assume back taxes, but think of all the fun you and a couple of buddies could have even if the shack only remains standing for another year.

Even at an 18 percent interest rate, a 30-year mortgage on this house would only cost around $2.83 per month. However, you better act fast: the word on the street is that the city of Flint is trying to scrounge up the money to buy it and perhaps turn it into a park.

UPDATE: Before you get too excited, the photo above is from 2011 and Realtor.com has this note attached to the home:

"Home is burned down, seller selling AS IS. Bring all offers. Buyer to buy it AS IS - Buyer to assume all back taxes. Seller to give buyer a quit claim deed at closing. Seller won't pay for title insurance, buyer would have to pay for it. Buyer assumes all costs to close transaction."
