The water problems continue for the City of Flint, as they have now issued a health warning to residents after high levels of a disinfection byproduct were found.

Recent testing found higher than normal levels of a chemical called T-T-H-M in the water system.  The chemical is a byproduct of the disinfectants that have been used to clean the current water system.

The EPA says that there aren't any real risks right now, and that it would take decades of exposure to the chemicals to cause any health problems. However, city officials warn that those with "a severely compromised immune system," and those who "have an infant or are elderly ... may be at increased risk and should seek advice about drinking water from your health care provider."

Potential health risks from years of exposure to the byproduct include kidney, liver or central nervous systems issues and increased risk of cancer.

Still, Flint residents are weary, after dealing with a number of water issues lately.  The city says that there is no cause for concern, and that if you do happen to feel ill, you should check with your doctor.

Do you trust the water in Flint or will you be buying bottled water for the time being?
