A 16-year-old boy who was reported to be dead after falling through the roof at an abandoned Flint school, is alive and in critical condition.

Numerous medial outlets reported that the boy died after falling through the roof at Johnson Elementary School in Flint. Police Chief James Tolbert told MLive at a press conference (video below) that the boy is alive. The name of the boy has not yet been announced.

Tolbert says his office will investigate how the miscommunication occurred.
