Don't get me wrong, winning is very important in sports.  But to the Flint Powers softball team, it wasn't nearly as important as supporting their teammate.  Check out why the team forfeited a game in the most important tournament of the year, just so they could help out their teammate.

When you think of arthritis, I automatically think of old people.  I had no clue that arthritis can effect young people, or how debilitating the disease can be.  Local teen, Meggie Manley is all too familiar with arthritis though, as she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age three.

Manley, 16, has lived a pretty normal life with the disease, even becoming the starting second baseman for the Flint Powers softball team.

For 7 years, Manley and her family have been participating in the Flint Arthritis Walk, raising awareness and money for the serious disease.  This year, the Walk landed on the same day as Powers' biggest tournament.

The team didn't hesitate.  They forfeited their first game and spent the morning supporting Manley and participating in the Arthritis walk.  Best of all, it was a decision made by the team.  Their coach or parents didn't have to tell them the right thing to do.  They just did it.
