Don't let our troubles fool you -- the Flint water crisis is a tragedy, but #FlintFwd is hoping it is just the first chapter of a long-overdue comeback story for the Vehicle City.

#FlintFwd is something you've likely seen on a Facebook post, sign, or t-shirt if you've looked around town recently. What it means is kind of hard to sum up in a few words, but it's basically a rallying cry that says not to write us off, because despite our problems, we will make this city great again.

The people of Flint have dealt with outsiders declaring our city a "lost cause" and "beyond help" since well before lead began pumping through our faucets. Most of us have built up a pretty thick skin to that sort of talk, and it is exactly that "never say die" spirit that is driving #FlintFwd. Hopefully, our city can use the national attention it has received in a way that turns not only the water situation around, but the entire city. That's the idea behind the latest video from the people at #FlintFwd, and I think it's an important message for people to hear.
