Flint native JaVale McGee has spent most of this season being considered one of the worst players in the NBA.  McGee critics are biting their tongues now, as the center/power forward has put together a series of impressive games, helping to extend his Denver Nuggets' playoff push.

All you have to do is google 'JaVale McGee lowlights' and you'll see why so many people are surprised by the playoff performance of the Flint native.  When McGee played for the Washington Wizards, he was known for best for being a knucklehead.  I mean honestly, the dude put forth some of the most laughable basketball, I've ever seen in the NBA.

But when McGee was traded to the Denver Nuggets, he got a clean slate and a chance to change what the basketball community thought of him.  His performance in game 5 against the Lakers certainly opened some eyes, as McGee put up 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots.  The Nuggets won the game 102-99 and avoided elimination.

Lakers center, Andrew Bynum made comments about how elimination games are easy to win, which gave McGee extra motivation to play hard.  When asked about Bynum's comments, McGee was quoted

All of us read that and we definitely wanted to prove him wrong and we did''

McGee also performed well in game 3, with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.  The series continues in Denver on Thursday night.
