Foo Fighters are not done with the Sonic Highways idea just yet. In fact, they just revealed to NME that there are plans for a second season. In a new video posted at the site, Dave Grohl states, "There is going to be another Sonic Highways season," and then precedes to offer a variety of ideas for what might be in store.

"It might or might not be international," teased Grohl. "It might someday be international. It might only be England or it might be England and other places or maybe it's places in America and people in other countries that are inspired by these places in America. The great thing about the idea, the concept of the project is that it can be anywhere because every city has some sort of musical history." If it were set in England, would the title be changed to Sonic Motorways? That remains to be seen.

The rocker admitted to being exhausted after completing the most recent Sonic Highways, citing not only the process of making the documentary and album at the same time, but also all the touring and promotional support that went along with promoting both the album and the series. He also added that it's another year-and-a-half that would have to be devoted to such a project. But while tiresome, Grohl also stated, "It's kind of a magical luxury of my life that I'm able to go around and interview people and learn about the history of all these awesome places, so I wouldn't just give it up. That's for sure."

As for the idea of placing the series in England, Grohl added, "Of all places in the world, England and the U.K. just seems like it would be shooting fish in a barrel. There's just so f--king much here. I'm sure it'll happen someday, I'm just not sure when."

Foo Fighters are still in the process of promoting their current Sonic Highways disc, while the HBO documentary series was recently released on DVD. Check out their massive tour schedule at this location. As for the album, it continues to do well, with the single "Congregation" currently holding strong at radio.
