Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters dominated 2011 with their massive album 'Wasting Light,' but that doesn't mean they're ready to pump the breaks. Dave Grohl announced in a recent blog post that the Foo are already looking to get back to the studio.

Grohl addressed the Foo fans this week on the band's official blog -- thanking them for the success of their seventh studio album 'Wasting Light,' recent tour, and the 'Album of the Year' Grammy nod they received earlier this month. While saying that they had never "worked so hard at making an album," Dave ended his reflection of the year/thank you to the fans -- which you can read in it's entirety here -- by looking to the future:

"And to all of you.....we're not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean.....If you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our 8th studio album....well....."

Foo Fighters just wrapped their brief tour of Australia with Tenacious D, and will reconvene for a handful of dates in Japan and Argentina this March. The band also announced that they will headline New Jersey's Bamboozle Fest along with Bon Jovi and Blink-182 May 18-20.
