If you're one of the many people in Genesee county that don't have health insurance, you know what it's like not to be able to go to the doctor.  The Genesee Health Plan want to change that and are holding a free expo to people who want more info.

A few weeks ago, I got 9 stitches in my  hand.  Pretty minor injury, but still, it was something I had to go to the ER for.  I saved 2,000 dollars because I had health insurance, which is more than what I spend a year on premiums.  Health insurance saves you money.  And if your family isn't properly insured, you are gambling with your children's health.

The Genesee Health Plan can work for many uninsured residents and on Tuesday May 3rd, people with questions can attend the free "Cover The Uninsured" Expo at First Presbyterian Church located at 746 S. Saginaw in Flint, from 11 to 4.

As first reported by The Flint Journal, the expo will offer info on The Genesee County Health Plan, MI Child/Healthy Kids, and Medicaid.  There will also be health screenings - blood pressure, blood sugar, diabetes, BMI, dental and vision; Ask the Pharmacist, Ask the Doctor and Ask the Podiatrist booths; and information from more than 25 local agencies that offer services for the uninsured and undeserved.
