Despite the fact that most area kids had their Christmas break extended a few days already, many parents are voicing their disapproval of many area schools reopening today -- find out why they were upset here.

This damn "Polar Vortex" has caused all kinds of problems in Genesee County, including horrible roads and school closings. After the extended power outages caused by the ice storm that led up to the record-breaking snow dump, people are understandably fed up with Michigan weather this year. That frustration has even boiled over into negative online comments about Consumers Energy and the Genesee County Road Commission, despite both entities working tirelessly against unprecedented situations. Now it looks like some of the negative energy is being directed at Genesee County Schools, but is it warranted in this case?

The majority of schools made the call to reopen today (1/9), even though it is too cold to properly eliminate the icy road conditions... you would think just the cold would be enough for schools to say "keep those kids warm at home."
