Godsmack's big August continues with the release of their new video for the single '1000hp.' The clip just dropped, and much like the song it takes a reflective look at the band's journey.

The video features a black-and-white shot performance of their song performed in modern day mixed in with colorful filmed live footage from throughout their career. It's definitely cool to look back at Godsmack's modest beginnings to being the band they are today.

Frontman Sully Erna recently told us about the song, "The more I heard the idea of ‘taking it to 1000 horsepower’ … rather than it being about a race car or whatever it was, it felt like more about the energy and adrenaline of the band.” Check out more of our interview with Erna talking about the track here.

In other Godsmack news, the band's '1000hp' album just debuted on the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 3. The disc sold around 58,000 copies in its first week of release. The band's last studio album, 'The Oracle,' debuted at No. 1 in May 2010.

Godsmack will be playing songs from the '1000hp' album when they hit the road this Friday (Aug. 15) for the tour kickoff of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival in Detroit. To see all of the Uproar festival dates, click here.
