Basically, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said he's hiring "independent group" to tell him what he knew and when he knew it. Why does he need outsiders to coach his responses if he's really trying to be "open and honest" about his knowledge of the Flint water crisis.

Everyone is finally outraged about this. First it was just us. Then, a month or two later, it spread to a national level. Now, people all over are finally paying attention and asking the questions that need to be asked of Gov. Snyder. There are even people like Michael Moore, who I can't believe didn't chime in on the Flint water crisis much sooner than he did, calling for the arrest of Snyder. That might explain his silence in the video above.

The rest of this story is heavily opinionated, so you'll either want to check your butthurt at the door or navigate elsewhere now

I hate to say this, but we let this happen. Snyder is now in his second term as our Governor. Every single person that helped get him re-elected in 2014 should be ashamed of themselves. His Emergency Financial Manager bill that passed early in his first term is what led to this crisis. Somehow, we still let him get re-elected despite the fact that Flint's elected officials were basically powerless because of it. His guys have been calling almost all of the shots in Flint since late 2011, and a lot of Michiganders voted to let that continue.

I didn't follow politics anywhere near as closely then, but even I understood the dangers that this bill could bring about back when all this started in 2011. I had a hard time understanding why more people weren't spitting mad about it then, and I still do. It's just a damn shame that we ended up being the case study for why policies like this are extremely dangerous.
