Green Day are back with a new single ‘Oh Love’ off their upcoming album, ‘¡Uno!,’ the first of a trilogy of discs that also includes ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tre!’ And earlier this evening (Aug. 15), the band premiered the video for the song on MTV.

The clip features a bevy of beautiful models sitting around a studio as Green Day walk in to perform the punk-tinged ballad. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong straps his guitar on first and starts belting out the tune. He’s then followed by Tre Cool, who starts pounding his drum kit, and finally Mike Dirnt, who grabs his bass guitar to provide the low-end of the tune.

In an interview with MTV, Armstrong describes ‘Oh Love’ as follows: “It’s kind of a tension ballad … instead of pulling at your heart strings, it’s like a noose pulling at your heart a little bit, and trying to keep your emotions intact. It’s very lustful, which is kind of a subject we haven’t gotten into in a long time.”

As reported earlier today, Green Day will perform at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, which takes place Sept. 6 in Los Angeles. The album ’¡Uno!’ drops Sept. 25. Check out the ‘Oh Love’ video above.
