Thursday was a historic day in downtown Detroit. Crews broke ground on where the old Hudson building use to be to begin construction on a new skyscraper.

The Hudson building was a huge staple in Detroit until its' closing in 1983. It was then demolished in October of 1998. Now the land will be used and redeveloped into a new skyscraper in Detroit.

The new tower is expected to be the tallest building in Detroit and boast areas for apartments, live events, retails shops, parking, and more.
