The music world has been cautiously hopeful in recent months that a reunion of the classic era lineup of Guns N' Roses will eventually take place. Fans have played connect the dots, speculating that Slash's comments that he and Axl Rose were now on friendly terms being so closely followed by two of the current GN'R lineup's guitarists exiting the band signified a potential reunion was afoot. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but that hasn't kept fans and peers from speculating and encouraging the reunion to take place.

During a recent appearance on the One on One With Mitch Lafon podcast, Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale shared her thoughts on the potential classic Guns N' Roses reunion, stating, "It got me so excited when I was hearing it come down the pike from friends… And, I mean, in the back of my head, I know it's true, and then in the front of my head, I'm, like, 'Oh my God! I hope I'm right. I hope everybody's right that's been telling me.'"

She went on to add, "It's heartbreaking when you know of these bands that influenced you that were great bands, these are guys that changed the face of rock on whatever level that you wanna put them on, and it's a shame when they can't get along, or they don't wanna get back together or they don't speak. Because I can't imagine, in my band, we've literally spent over twelve years, like, living two feet from each other, and I can't think of anything that anybody could possibly do that I wouldn't even wanna speak to them anymore. So, to me, just on that level of it, I'm excited for them, and I'm excited for that to happen."

When asked if Halestorm would answer the call if asked to open for the classic GN'R lineup, Hale enthusiastically responded, "Are you kidding me? If that call comes in, I will walk there if I have to and play the show."

Halestorm have shown their love for Guns N' Roses over the years, with Lzzy joining Slash on multiple occasions to play "Out Ta Get Me." The group also recorded the track on their ReAniMate: The Covers EP back in 2011.

The rumor mill has been rampant on the potential Guns N' Roses reunion with talk that it is on, that it's not on and even that a hybrid version of the band featuring current and early era members would play. The latest rumor is that the band has received "megabucks" offers to play the Isle of Wight and Download Festivals, but that any shows likely wouldn't take place for another two years due to prior commitments.
