Health Officials Warn Michiganders About Letting Kids “Swim” In Flood Water [VIDEO]

Why anyone would let their child play in murky flood water on the littered ground is beyond me, but here's the official warning against it just in case. Isabella County has been covered heavily in flood waters recently, and with the flooding comes several health risks. Some of the risks are obvious, like trash, animal feces, sharp objects and electrical risks. According to WNEM, the Central Michigan Health Department warned that untreated sewage from the Mt. Pleasant treatment plant has contaminated Chippewa River as well. Just thinking about swimming in sewage water makes me feel like I have an infectious disease. They urge residents to not enter the waters, and the CDC gives advice on how to stay safe in times like these, which you can find here.
