Now that there's a new, and possibly great, 'Friday the 13th' video game headed our way, let us take a look back at the hot mess that brought Jason Voorhees to our NES.

As a child, I loved 'Friday the 13th.' While others my age were marveling at 'The Little Mermaid,' I was watching J. Voorhees exact his revenge on horny teenagers at Camp Crystal Lake. Yeah, I was a weird kid.

So obviously I was stoked when they dropped a 'Friday the 13th' video game in 1989. Even though it played about as well as a Detroit Lion on Sunday afternoon, I still loved that game. In fact, I was haunted by it. I could never defeat that 8-bit, Charlotte Hornets-jumpsuit-wearing Jason, but damned if I didn't try. Based on this video, a lot of people shared my frustrations with this ill-conceived trainwreck.
