According to reports, hundreds of hopeful locals showed up at a Flint church for a GM job fair that they saw posted on Facebook... except there was no job fair.

Early this morning, Flint residents began lining up at the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church on Lapeer Rd. in Flint, some as early as 6a. They were there hoping for their own version of that classic Flint success story, where you get a job with GM and you're set for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, Flint gigs like that are damn near extinct, especially with GM. Even more unfortunately, all of them were there for a hiring event that was non-existent.

According to those on the scene, hundreds of locals showed up in response to the Facebook post seen in the video above. Despite it's completely legitimate look, the post (which we were only able to track down a screenshot of) turned out to be a hoax. Neither General Motors or the church were aware of any such event according to MLive. Whether or not it was believable, it was still a cruel trick by the currently-unknown prankster. You can definitely see some disappointment on the faces of some in the Facebook post below.

Hundreds wait in line @7am at local church only to be disappointed by fake GM positions posted on Facebook! If you were there this morning please inbox me ASAP!
