Hurt and Smile Empty Soul recently hit the studio to record a cover of the Alice in Chains' classic 'No Excuses' together -- check out the exclusive premiere now!

On the day before their November 2nd gig at The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan, Hurt and Smile Empty Soul headed to Rochester Hills' 37 Studios. Along with producer Matt Dalton -- known for his work with a plethora of local and national acts including Frequency 54 and Chiodos/D.R.U.G.S. frontman Craig Owens -- the two bands decided to tackle the Alice in Chains track, 'No Excuses.'

The mostly acoustic track -- originally found on AIC's celebrated 'Jar of Flies' EP -- has a very collaborative feel to begin with, making it the perfect candidate for an impromptu jam. Luckily our good friend and photographer extraordinaire, Jeff Mintline of Mintypics.com was on hand to capture all of the action (as can bee seen in the photo gallery below).

It is our understanding that the Hurt and Smile Empty Soul cover of 'No Excuses' will be available for download at some point, from which the proceeds will likely go to benefit a charitable cause. Until then we have your exclusive listen to the track, enjoy!
