Ill Nino’s last release was their 2010 LP ‘Dead New World,’ but there’s good news for fans of the band as they’ve announced the release date and title of their disc due out later this year. Their sixth album will be called ‘Epidemia’ and will be released on Oct. 22 on Victory Records.

The recordings for the new release proved to be quite diverse. The sessions were spread out across the country with stops in Hoboken, N.J.; Austin, Texas; and Denver, Colo.

As far as what fans can expect from the disc, drummer Dave Chavarri previously talked about the sound of the upcoming album, stating, “This time around, we want to explore Latin and tribal rhythms we have never explored in the past five releases, giving us no musical boundaries at all.” Frontman Cristian Machado weighed in as well, explaining, “It’s 2012 and we’re all still alive. It’s time to redefine Latin metal.”

Ill Nino got their start back in 1998 in New Jersey with founding member Chavarri leading the way. Currently the members of the band are spread out across the U.S.

In support of the new disc, Ill Nino will be hitting the road this fall with Static-X and Emmure. Check out the first leg of dates announced below.
