Now that he is out from under the pressure of working with a pre-existing property, Rob Zombie will return this year with an original film centering on witchcraft called 'The Lords of Salem.' Being that he is scoring the film, Zombie's guitarist John 5 has seen some of the footage and says it looks "incredible."

Rob Zombie is currently in post production on his new film 'The Lords of Salem,' his first non-remake, non-sequel, live-action feature since his directorial debut 'House of 1000 Corpses.' After months of filming, the project is in post-production and while it is expected this year -- a trailer has yet to be released.

Rob Zombie didn't look far outside of his camp when making the film, drafting several familiar faces for the project like Sid Haig, his wife Sheri Moon Zombie, and hired his guitarist John 5 to provide the score. The former Marilyn Manson axeman recently spoke to Noisecreep about his involvement:

"I am scoring the movie with Griffin Boyce, rocking this thing out. I don't know how much longer we'll be working on it, but what we have is unbelievable. We saw a little bit of the film with the music. It was incredible. I don't score that much. But this is special and it looks incredible. It has been exciting progression."

'The Lords of Salem' will see residents of Salem, Massachusetts visited by a 300-year-old coven of witches and stars Clint Howard, Meg Foster, Dee Wallace, and Shari Moon Zombie. Rob Zombie will embark on a co-headlining tour with Megadeth that kicks off this May 11th in Holmdel, New Jersey.
